The few years prior to World War II saw the beginning of operations for Turkish Airlines, more specifically in May of 1933. Their start in business was humble with just four aircraft capable of carrying merely twenty three passengers total. Their fleet did not see another plane until 1945. Currently, they took reception of a Boeing 777-300ER, the first of twelve, that is the most advanced intercontinental airplane. The past five years have seen the increase in routes operated by the airline as well as improved profitability. Clearly, Turkish Airlines has learned from past mistakes and have progressed significantly since the days when they could only carry 23 passengers at a time. There seems to be an increase in passenger flow especially among expatriates. Once they pick good responsible moving service to relocate, then their next move is to estimate relocation expenses, and select Turkish Airlines as their carrier of choice.
Spain’s Valencia is the newest addition to the long list of routes operated by Turkish Airlines and there will be four weekly flights to this destination. The next route to open up will be Istanbul to Malaga, also in Spain, which should start in April. This route will be covered three times per week. Turkish Airlines already flies to Madrid and Barcelona and these are simply additions. This is planned to be quite a busy year for the Turkish airline and these additional routes are just the start of it. There will be many additions to the company’s destinations this year. Sometime during the summer, it is expected for flights to Toulouse, Lyon, Paris and Nice in France to start operating. Therefore, the airline will have a total of 175 international routes in its schedule and the year has barely begun. Yet, one more US flight gateway was put on Turkish Airlines’ list in June, 2010. This most recent increase raises the amount of gateways that originated in the United States to three, with nonstop flights from Washington DC to Istanbul, Turkey. Dulles International Airport will possess four flights coming from there. The chosen airliner will be the Airbus A330. This move means that Turkey is constantly trying to find ways to give Americans the opportunity to see Turkey and all of its beauty. Surely, it can be said that Istanbul has a combination of both old world and modern history. A fourth gateway that is planned for 2011 will go from Los Angeles CA and run to Istanbul.
Turkish Airlines has implemented a new form of traveling referred to as Comfort Class. This is a style of travel that is only available on the airline’s fleet of Boeing 777s. With seats that are just under 46 inches, this makes it a completely new approach to flying in style. Thus, you can either relax in four feet of seat or have plenty of space for anything else you have with you. Boeing 777s are mainly used on long flights, however, because they are large aircraft. Current Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles card carriers may use their accrued miles to reserve seating with Comfort Class. Since the Turkish Airlines has had years of steady profits, they are in a wonderful position to do what all businesses should do. The airlines have been proving how good their marketing technique has been by branding their business in a very international manner. We believe this company is a fast mover and poised for global dominance in the ultra-competitive world of aviation and flight travel. Not only are then tons of sports celebrity multi-year contracts, but the company has continued to get more planes and make more improvements all over.
